You mean Xena isn't an aspect of Shiva?

So, I've been watching Xena season 4, and there were a spate of episodes where Xena and Gabrielle are traveling in India. At the beginning of these episodes, there was a disclaimer stating that the writers took some liberty with Hindu deities and beliefs, but their sole purpose was to illustrate the beauty of the Hindu religion. I have no problem with the whole not wanting to offend thing, but I mean, seriously, we're talking about Xena: Warrior Princess here, it's not like it's exactly a documentary. They took liberties with all kinds of religions; Greek gods, pagan beliefs, amazon beliefs, Christianity, etc. I think that if you're watching Xena, you can probably just take for granted that you shouldn't be using it as a guide for religious facts and history. So why don't they have a disclaimer for all religions? Why just Hindus? Just thought that was interesting.

Those Hindus are brutal; don't want to piss them off. :)

Is that the season where Gabrielle cut off all her hair and was like inhabited by a hindu goddess or something...or decided to not hurt people anymore and go around spreading her message of love? I miss Xena...sad but true. They don't have any cool shows like Xena and Hercules anymore. They were fun to watch on Saturdays.

Josh: yeah, I know. They might try some passive resistance, or get really crazy and have a hunger strike!

kiera: Yes. Yes it is. All of that, and more! I miss Xena, too. Shows just aren't cheese-o-riffic like that anymore. If you want to watch season 4 in all it's crazy Hindu-ie goodness, you can borrow it.

Amazon beliefs?

Am I missing something? I thought the Amazons were fictitious.

What do you want from me? I learned about history from Xena! And besides, I was in ahurry when I wrote that. And I wasn't feeling well. And. . .I was dead at the time. And. . .don't blame me cause I'm not a big fancy pants college professor with all the book larning like SOME people.

No way! The Amazons were REAL! Maybe. Kind of. At least, that's what wikipedia told me.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amazons

But you don't have to take my word for it... du-duh duh! (That was a poorly translated Reading Rainbow musical finish, by the way)

YEAH! Thanks Josh! I know you always got my back!

BTW, did you know that there was a reference to Buffy the Vampire Slayer in this season? Gabrielle is convinced to write and direct a play that is really really boring, and the critic that's in the audience at one point turns to his companion and says, "There a showing of Buffus the Bacchi Slayer across the street. Wanna go?"

BUffy? Really? That's hilarious!
